Eter Liparteliani won the gold medal at the European Judo Championships

Georgian athlete Eter Liparteliani became the winner of the European Judo Championships, which are being held in Tbilisi.

In the final, Liparteliani defeated Israel’s representative Timna Nelson-Levy with an impressive throw.

At the beginning of the match, the Georgian judoka conceded a throw and was trailing 0–1 until the final moments. However, 15 seconds before the end of the bout, Eter Liparteliani defeated her opponent by ippon and added the European gold medal to her world champion title.

She became the first Georgian female judoka to win the European Championship.
