Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili responded on social media to the murder of American conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

“The brutal murder of Charlie Kirk is a direct and unambiguous result of hatred, dehumanization, and intolerant rhetoric. I condemn this unimaginable and barbaric act of violence.

Words can have grave consequences, and the support of hate speech can lead to unpredictable outcomes. Our repeated calls and warnings to certain foreign officials to refrain from supporting violent rhetoric — rhetoric that is allegedly carried out in the name of the European Union, liberalism, and democracy — are aimed at preventing such unpredictable acts of violence in Georgia.

I express my sincere condolences to the American people, especially to the family and loved ones of Charlie Kirk,” Papuashvili wrote.
