Maka Bochorishvili meets with NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia
On May 7, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Bochorishvili, held a meeting with the newly appointed Special Representative of the NATO Secretary General for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Ambassador Kevin Hamilton.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the meeting focused on the NATO–Georgia agenda. The importance of political dialogue and practical cooperation with the Alliance was discussed. NATO’s support for strengthening the country’s defense capabilities was emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to the security situation in the region, global challenges, and the importance of peace and stability for Georgia. The situation in Georgia’s occupied territories was also discussed.
Kevin Hamilton thanked the Georgian side for its contribution to ensuring Euro-Atlantic security and expressed the Alliance’s continued support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Within the framework of the visit, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia will also meet with Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Irakli Chikovani, visit the occupation line in the village of Odzisi, and tour the NATO–Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC).
