The State Security Service of Georgia reports that two Georgian citizens were detained by occupation forces near the village of Kvemo Nikozi in the Gori Municipality.

“Information about yet another illegal detention was immediately communicated to the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners. All existing mechanisms have been activated to secure the swift release of the illegally detained Georgian citizens. Responsibility for all destructive actions carried out in the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the occupation line, lies with the occupying force,” the agency stated.

In the first nine months of 2024, a total of 58 Georgian citizens were detained near the occupation lines.
