The National Food Agency fined two business operators for violating requirements related to the production and storage of meat products

“Inspectors of the Tbilisi Department, within the framework of state control, carried out a scheduled inspection of the meat and meat products production enterprise LLC ‘XXI+ Eristavi’ (address: Moskovis Avenue N12). During the inspection, it was established that the business operator was processing and storing products in violation of sanitary and hygiene standards and established food safety requirements.

At the same time, as a result of an investigation, a refrigerated storage facility belonging to individual entrepreneur T. M. in the city of Senaki (address: Senaki, Dadiani Street N1) was identified, where products manufactured by LLC ‘XXI+ Eristavi’ were being stored. During an unscheduled inspection, inspectors of Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti found that the business operator was operating without mandatory approval and without registration in the economic activity registry.

Due to the identified violations, the business operators were fined and the production activities of the facilities were suspended.

The National Food Agency carries out state control across the country on a continuous basis,” the agency said in its statement.
