Representatives of the Russian occupation forces illegally detained one Georgian citizen near the village of Zemo Khviti in the Gori municipality, the State Security Service of Georgia reported.

According to the agency, immediately after receiving information about the incident, the State Security Service activated the “hotline,” which operates with the involvement of the EU Monitoring Mission.

“Information about yet another illegal detention has been promptly communicated to the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and to international partners.

All available mechanisms have been activated to ensure the swift release of the detained Georgian citizen, for which full responsibility lies with the occupation forces,” the State Security Service statement said.
