Police have detained two people in Tbilisi on drug-related charges

According to Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, officers of the Vake-Saburtalo main divisions of the Tbilisi Police Department carried out various operational measures and investigative actions, as a result of which two individuals were arrested on drug-related charges.
The ministry noted that this crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
“D.Z., born in 1990, and G.Z., born in 1993, were detained on charges of illegal acquisition, possession, and facilitation of the distribution of narcotic substances.
During a personal search of the suspects, as well as in various locations, law enforcement officers seized as evidence dried marijuana prepared for sale.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260-1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” the ministry’s statement said.
