Police detain two individuals in Tbilisi on drug-related charges
Officers of the Tbilisi Police Department from the Isani–Samgori and Didube–Chugureti Main Divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detained two individuals on drug-related charges as a result of various operational and investigative actions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
“Charged with the illegal acquisition, possession, production, and facilitation of the illegal sale of narcotic drugs in large and especially large quantities are: a previously convicted Georgian citizen, born in 1998, identified as V.O., and a citizen of the Republic of Cuba, born in 1991, identified as M.S.
As a result of searches of the suspects’ persons and residences, as well as a conducted investigative experiment, police seized from the locations indicated by the accused substances prepared for sale — methadone and dried marijuana — as material evidence.
In addition, materials and adhesive tapes used for packaging narcotic substances were confiscated.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260, 260¹, 260⁴, and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crimes are punishable by up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment,” the statement reads.
