Migration Department officers deport 43 foreign nationals from Georgia

Officers of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, in close coordination with the relevant units of the ministry, deported 43 foreign nationals from Georgia in recent days, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reported.

According to the agency, as a result of comprehensive measures carried out by the Migration Department, citizens of Russia, India, Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Jordan, and Tajikistan were deported from the country — a total of 43 people.

“It should be noted that this year the total number of persons deported from Georgia has reached 1,200.

In accordance with current legislation, the deported individuals were banned from re-entering the country.

The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its areas of competence is identifying foreign nationals staying in Georgia without legal grounds and carrying out their deportation through intensive migration control and other special measures,” the statement said.
