Officers of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detained one person on charges of fraudulently misappropriating a large sum of money. This was reported by Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the agency, the investigation established that the accused fraudulently appropriated 120,000 lari paid by citizens for repair work at different times and failed to fulfill his obligations.

“As a result of operational and investigative measures, law enforcement officers detained the offender as a defendant.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for a prison sentence of up to 9 years,” the statement says.
