Employees of the Migration Department have expelled from Georgia a German citizen who grossly violated public order at Tbilisi International Airport
As a result of jointly conducted operations, officers of the Migration and Patrol Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained and expelled from Georgia a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, B.M., born in 1998. The information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
“On January 7 of this year, while at Tbilisi International Airport, the individual acted aggressively, grossly violated public order, and verbally insulted officers of the Patrol Police Department when they urged him to observe public order, as a result of which B.M. was administratively detained.
By decision of the Tbilisi City Court, the citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany was found guilty of administrative offenses under Articles 173 and 166 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. As an administrative penalty, he was fined 4,000 lari, as well as expelled from the country and banned from entering Georgia for a period of three years.
On the basis of the court decision, employees of the Migration Department escorted B.M. to Tbilisi International Airport, where his expulsion from the country was carried out.
It should be noted that, in accordance with amendments to the Law ‘On the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons,’ the mechanisms for expelling foreign citizens from Georgia—both those staying illegally and legally in the country—have been improved, which, where appropriate legal grounds exist, constitutes a lawful basis for their expulsion,” the statement released by the agency says.
